The Nebia Hook Set can be installed one of two ways - using screws (which involves drilling into your wall) or using a strong adhesive. If you plan on hanging heavier objects (more than 5 lbs / 2.26 kg), then we recommend using the screw method.
Screw Method
1. Remove the contents from the box. If drilling into drywall, you will need a standard drill bit with a drill. If drilling into tile or slate, you will need a 1/4” tile or spear drill bit along with a drill. If drilling into concrete or brick, you will need a 1/4” masonry bit along with a drill. If your wall is wooden, you will not need a drill and will just need a screwdriver.
2. Use the Allen key to loosen the set screw and remove the backplate from the hook.
3. Decide where to mount your Nebia Hook. Place the backplate in its desired location with the indentation in the backplate pointing down and the flat face against the wall.
4. Use a pencil to trace where you would like to place the hook and trace the 2 screw holes (the holes at the bottom and the top, not the hole in the middle). Ensure that the holes are aligned vertically.
5. Use a drill and the appropriate drill bit (depending on the material of your wall) to drill the two required holes. *If your wall is wooden, you can skip this step and step 6.
6. Insert the plastic anchors into the drilled holes. You can use a hammer if need be.
7. Use a screwdriver and the 2 screws provided to screw the backplate into the wall.
8. Place the hook on top of the backplate. Use the Allen key to turn the set screw, into the indentation, to secure the hook to the backplate. Tighten until the hook is secure and avoid over-tightening.
9. Repeat steps 2 through 8 for the additional hooks.
Adhesive Method
1. Remove the contents from the box.
2. Use the Allen key to loosen the set screw and remove the backplate from the hook. (See Illustration above)
3. Decide where to mount your Nebia Hook. Place the backplate in its desired location with the indentation in the backplate pointing down. Use a pencil to trace where you would like to place the hook.
4. With the alcohol wipe, clean the wall surface inside the trace mark and allow the surface to dry.
5. Clean the back surface of the backplate with the alcohol wipe and allow it to dry.
6. Peel off one of the protective liners on the adhesive and attach the adhesive to the back of the backplate (the part that will adhere to the wall). Press the adhesive against the back of the backplate for 30 seconds.
7. Remove the protective liner from the other side of the adhesive.
8. Place the backplate inside the trace mark (with the indentation facing down) and press it firmly against the wall for 30 seconds.
9. Let the adhesive cure for 48 hours. Avoid wetting the adhesive during this time.
10. Place the hook on top of the backplate. Use the Allen key to turn the set screw, into the indentation, to secure the hook to the backplate. Tighten until the hook is secure and avoid over-tightening. (See Illustration above)
11. Repeat steps 2 through 10 for the additional hooks.
