Using Vice Grips (Click Here) can make the process of removing a stubborn shower arm much easier!
If this has not been effective for you, we also recommend that you try the following:
- Use an internal pipe wrench (Click Here) to get a better grip of the shower.
- Use a metal lubricant (like WD-40) to loosen a frozen connection. You’ll first need to spray the lubricant into the threads and let it sit for ~1 hour. Next, you will need to turn the pipe clockwise and counter-clockwise for the lubricant to work its way deeper into threads. You may need to reapply the lubricant here so it can work its way deeper into the threads, waiting again before you’re able to move the pipe.
- Ask a friend or family member to lend you a hand to get some extra leverage.
