- Insert the flat end of the Key (Marked A) into the wall to measure the depth of your water outlet.
- The letter that aligns with your wall (A, B, C, D or E) corresponds to the correct Adapter and Collar combination.
- If the measurement falls between two letters, choose the longer combination.
In some bathrooms, the shower arm is not routed directly through the tile wall. Instead, the shower arm and water outlet connections join above the tile wall, usually through drywall. This is fairly common among prefabricate bathtub shower combos, often creating a recessed shelf/ledge.
If you have a ledge, please follow the instructions below:
- Insert the flat end of the Key (Marked A) into the wall to measure the depth of your water outlet.
- The letter that aligns with the ledge (not the wall) will indicate the correct Adapter and Collar combination.
- Compare your ledge to the widths of the different Spacers and select the Spacer(s) that best fills the gap.
Having troubles with this step?
When measuring, do I have to use the Key?
Yes, the Key will let you know exactly which Adapter and Collar combination to use.
What happens if I do not use the correct Adapter, Collar, and Spacer?
If you have selected the incorrect combination you will experience difficulties installing the shower. Some clear indications that you have selected the wrong combination is (1) the Indicator will not change from red to gray, (2) the Nebia bracket is not flush or (3) the Adapter sticks out past the Collar. If so, please measure again with the Key to find the correct hardware combination.
The Adapter does not look long enough.
The Adapter may stick out slightly past the wall or be flush with the shower wall. If so, use the long Collar to fit the vast majority of installations.
How tight do I need to screw on the Collar?
This step does not require a lot of force it should only be flush against the wall. You should be able to easily unscrew the Collar by hand if needed.
